Partisan is the official publication of the Revolutionary Communist Organisation (RCO). We are a monthly journal of the ‘partyist left’ in Australia – that section of the left which views the formation of a mass Workers Party as its primary task. Alongside the RCO, we fight for a reunification of the left into a party that can carry out the tasks of the communist and workers movement: the establishment of a democratic republic and the dissolution of the capitalist prison-states.
We are interested in public interest journalism as well as sophisticated Marxist analysis of not just the past, but also the present. We aim to present in our journal the ‘Partyist’ orientation, and through our publishing make a convincing argument for our perspective. We also aim to be a platform of debate and polemic amongst the left, and reject the inane acts of sectarianism that has splintered the movement over the last few decades.
We believe in communist unity, the basis of which is a shared program for the establishment of communist society (a Marxist program). Please read our introductory editorial for a more detailed explanation of Partisan and its mission.
